A backyard trampoline gives kids active outdoor play in any weather, builds coordination, and burns more energy than any other piece of garden equipment. Our range covers 6ft kids' trampolines for toddlers, family-sized 10–12ft round trampolines, large 14ft+ trampolines for older kids, springless trampolines for added safety, and rectangular trampolines for higher bounce. Trampolines from $200, with most family-sized models between $400 and $900. Stock is held across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses, dispatching within 1–2 business days.
What size trampoline do I need?
Trampoline size is decided by two things: backyard space and the age of the kids using it. A 6ft kids' trampoline suits 3–6 year olds and small yards — it bounces less than a full-size one because of the smaller mat and fewer springs. An 8ft trampoline suits one child up to age 10. A 10–12ft trampoline suits 1–2 kids of any age and is the most common family size. A 14ft+ trampoline gives more room for older kids and teenagers. Allow 1.5m of clear space on every side and 6m of vertical clearance — a 10ft trampoline therefore needs about 6m x 6m of clear backyard.
What types of trampolines are available?
| Size | Best for | Yard space needed | Price guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6ft kids' trampoline | Ages 3–6, small yards | 3.5m x 3.5m | $200–$400 |
| 8ft trampoline | One child, medium yards | 4.5m x 4.5m | $300–$500 |
| 10ft trampoline | Family, most popular | 5.5m x 5.5m | $400–$700 |
| 12–14ft trampoline | Multiple kids, teens | 6–7m square | $500–$900 |
| Springless / Springfree | Added safety, all sizes | Same as round equivalent | $600–$1500 |
| Rectangular | Gymnastics, higher bounce | 4m x 5m+ | $700–$1500 |
Springless or spring trampoline — which is safer?
Both are safe with a good enclosure net. Spring trampolines use steel springs around the perimeter, which give a higher bounce but expose pinch points if a child's limb falls between the springs. A spring-cover pad (the padded ring around the mat) covers the springs and is the main safety feature; check the pad is thick (at least 20mm) and securely fastened. Springless trampolines (Springfree-style designs) replace springs with flexible rods underneath the mat, removing the pinch risk entirely. They cost roughly double the equivalent spring trampoline but last 10–15 years versus 5–7 for a spring model. For families planning long-term use, springless is the safer and longer-lasting choice.
Quick buyer's checklist
- Size: Match to backyard space, not just price
- Enclosure net: Essential — most injuries happen from falls off the trampoline
- Spring pad: 20mm+ thick, fully covers springs
- Weight rating: Most family trampolines handle 100–150kg
- Frame material: Galvanised steel for outdoor longevity
- Anchor kit: Ground anchors stop the trampoline tipping in wind
How safe is a backyard trampoline?
Trampolines are safe when set up properly and used by one child at a time. The risk numbers most parents do not see: the biggest cause of trampoline injuries is two or more kids jumping together, where a smaller child gets bounced off-rhythm and lands awkwardly. The second-biggest cause is jumping off the side onto the ground. Both are prevented by enforcing one-at-a-time and using the enclosure net. Always set the trampoline up on flat ground away from fences, walls, and overhanging branches. Anchor the trampoline with ground stakes — unanchored trampolines tip and fly across yards in storms over 60km/h winds.
How much do trampolines cost in Australia?
Trampolines at Simple Deals start from $200 for compact kids' trampolines. Most family-sized 10–12ft trampolines sit between $400 and $700, with larger and springless models running higher. All trampolines dispatch within 1–2 business days from our Australian warehouses.
What most sites won't admit
Almost every trampoline sold online in Australia is imported from China — including ours. The real difference is not where the trampoline is made, it's what happens after it lands in Australia. Marketplaces dropship straight from overseas containers, which is why "fast delivery" stretches into six weeks. We import in bulk, hold stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses, and ship from there.
The other thing nobody mentions: replacement parts. The spring pad and the enclosure net are the parts that wear out fastest — UV damage from Australian sun usually destroys the pad in 3–4 years and the net in 4–6 years. The frame itself lasts 10–15 years if galvanised. When buying a trampoline, check whether the manufacturer sells replacement pads and nets separately. Generic replacements exist but rarely fit perfectly; brand-matched replacements extend the trampoline's life by years.
Frequently asked questions
What if my trampoline arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days with photos. We will arrange a replacement or refund under the 12-month warranty. Transit damage is uncommon with flat-pack trampolines, but check the spring pad for tears on receipt.
How long does assembly take?
6–8ft trampolines: 60–120 minutes for two people. 10–12ft trampolines: 2–4 hours for two people. 14ft+ trampolines: 4–6 hours. Tools and instructions are included.
How long does delivery take?
Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane: 3–5 business days. Perth and Adelaide: 5–8 days. Regional and remote areas: 7–14 days.
Can I pay with Afterpay, Zip or PayPal?
Yes, all three. A $600 trampoline works out to four payments of $150 with Afterpay, four payments of $150 with PayPal Pay in 4, or roughly $50 a month with Zip over 12 months. Klarna is also available.
What's the warranty?
12 months on manufacturing defects, plus 15-day returns on unassembled trampolines in original packaging.
Complete the backyard play setup
A trampoline anchors the active play, and a few pieces round out the backyard. Most parents add three at the same time: a slide for variety, a sand pit for quieter outdoor time, and a cubby house for shaded pretend play.
