Square Coffee Tables

Most online square coffee tables in Australia ship from overseas warehouses, which is why "fast delivery" usually means six weeks. Ours don't. We hold stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses and dispatch within 1-2 business days. Square coffee tables from $80.

What size square coffee table do I need?

A square coffee table should be around two-thirds the length of your sofa. For a standard 3-seater (200cm), aim for 80–90cm square. For a modular or 4-seater, 90–110cm square works better. Leave at least 40cm between the sofa edge and the table for comfortable leg space.

What types of square coffee tables are available?

You'll find timber, engineered wood, marble-top, glass-top and metal styles. Each suits different rooms and budgets:

How much does a square coffee table cost in Australia?

Our square coffee tables start from $80 for engineered wood. Most mid-range solid timber options sit between $180–$350. Marble-top and premium timber pieces go $400–$900. We dispatch within 1–2 business days from our Australian warehouses.

Quick Buyer's Checklist

• Height: Match to sofa seat height — usually 40–45cm off the floor
• Storage: Some square tables have shelves or drawers — handy for remotes and magazines
• Corners: Rounded corners are safer for households with young kids
• Doorway fit: Most square tables ship flat-pack; assembled ones need 80cm doorway clearance
• Match your look: Timber tones should coordinate (not exactly match) other timber pieces in the room

What most furniture sites won't admit

Almost every square coffee table sold online in Australia is imported from China, Vietnam or Indonesia — including ours. The real difference isn't where it's made; it's what happens after it lands. Marketplaces dropship straight from overseas containers, which is why "fast delivery" turns into six weeks. We import in bulk, hold stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses, and ship from there.

The other thing nobody mentions: "solid timber" and "solid wood" aren't the same thing. Solid timber means the whole piece is one wood species. Solid wood can mean an MDF core wrapped in a wood veneer. Read the product specs carefully — the difference is $100 versus $400 for something that looks similar until you scratch it.
