Most online puppy training gear in Australia ships from overseas warehouses, which is why "fast delivery" usually means six weeks. Ours doesn't. We hold stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses and dispatch within 1-2 business days. Puppy training gear from $15.
What puppy training gear do I need?
The essentials for the first 12 weeks are training pads (for toilet training indoors), a puppy crate, a lead and harness, treat pouches and a clicker. Add a long-line lead and safety gate as the puppy grows. Buy puppy-sized gear first — a lead built for a 30kg Labrador is too heavy for a 4-month-old pup.
What types of puppy training gear are available?
You'll find training pads, crates, leads and harnesses, treat pouches, clickers and safety gates. Each solves a specific training problem:
| Type | Best For | Price Guide | Key Feature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Training Pads | Toilet training, indoors | $15–$60 | Absorbent, leak-proof backing |
| Crates | Safe space, transport | $40–$180 | Wire, plastic, foldable |
| Leads & Harnesses | Walking, control | $20–$80 | Front-clip anti-pull |
| Treat Pouches | Reward training | $15–$45 | Belt clip, quick access |
| Safety Gates | Room limits, stairs | $40–$120 | Pressure fit or hardware |
How much does puppy training gear cost in Australia?
Basic training pads and treat pouches start from $15. Mid-range crates, harnesses and safety gates sit between $50–$120. A complete new-puppy starter kit typically runs $200–$400. We dispatch within 1–2 business days from our Australian warehouses.
Quick Buyer's Checklist
- Crate sizing: Pup should be able to stand, turn and lie down — bigger encourages toileting inside
- Harness fit: Two fingers should fit between straps and puppy's body
- Front-clip vs back-clip: Front-clip discourages pulling; back-clip for calm walkers
- Pad size: Standard pads are 60x60cm; large-breed pups need extra-large
- Treat pouch access: One-handed opening matters when you're managing a lead
What most puppy training sites won't admit
Almost every piece of puppy training gear sold online in Australia is imported from China or Vietnam — including ours. The real difference isn't where they're made; it's what happens after they land. Marketplaces dropship straight from overseas containers, which is why "fast delivery" turns into six weeks. We import in bulk, hold stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses, and ship from there.
The other thing nobody mentions: puppies grow fast. A crate that fits an 8-week-old Labrador is too small at 4 months. Look for crates with a divider panel — you can start small (encouraging toilet control) then expand as the pup grows. Same for harnesses — adjustable models with 6-12kg range save you buying twice.
Frequently asked questions
What if my training gear arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days with photos. We'll replace or refund under our 12-month warranty. Transit damage is rare (under 2%), but we sort it within 48 hours.
How long does delivery take?
Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane: 3–5 business days. Perth and Adelaide: 5–8 days. Regional and remote areas: 7–14 days.
Can I pay with Afterpay, Zip or PayPal?
Yes, all three. A $200 starter kit works out to four payments of $50 with Afterpay or four payments of $50 with PayPal Pay in 4. Zip offers up to 12 months.
At what age can I start training a puppy?
Basic training (sit, come, name recognition) can start at 8 weeks. Toilet training and crate training begin from day one. Formal obedience classes typically start around 12 weeks after first vaccinations.

Three items most buyers add at the same time: pet feeding, pet clothing, and pet stairs. Consistency matters more than gear — the same commands and rewards from every family member work faster than any tool.
