Pots & Planters

Most online pots and planters in Australia ship from overseas warehouses, which is why "fast delivery" usually means six weeks. Ours don't. We hold stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses and dispatch within 1-2 business days. Pots and planters from $15.

What size pot or planter do I need?

Match the pot size to the plant's root ball plus 5–10cm of growing room. A small herb needs 15–20cm diameter; a mature indoor tree needs 40–60cm. For outdoor planters, wider is better than deeper — roots spread horizontally in most cases.

What types of pots and planters are available?

You'll find plastic, ceramic, terracotta, concrete, metal and self-watering styles. Each suits different plants and environments:

Type Best For Price Guide Key Feature
Plastic Everyday planting, movable $15–$60 Lightweight, freeze-resistant
Ceramic Glazed Indoor decor $30–$150 Non-porous, stylish finish
Terracotta Mediterranean plants, herbs $20–$100 Breathable, absorbs water
Concrete Permanent outdoor placement $60–$250 Won't blow over, weathers well
Self-Watering Frequent travellers, offices $40–$180 Reservoir base, 1-2 week reserves

How much do pots and planters cost in Australia?

Our pots start from $15 for basic plastic. Most mid-range ceramic and concrete options sit between $40–$120. Feature planters over 50cm go $150–$400. We dispatch within 1–2 business days from our Australian warehouses.

Quick Buyer's Checklist

  • Drainage: Look for at least one drainage hole — root rot is the #1 pot-plant killer
  • Weight when full: A 40cm concrete pot weighs 25kg empty and 60kg with wet soil
  • Saucer or base: Ceramic and terracotta on tiles need saucers to prevent water damage
  • Frost hardiness: Only concrete, plastic and glazed ceramic survive frost in cooler areas
  • Sun exposure: Metal pots heat up in full sun and can cook roots — pick lighter colours

What most sites won't admit

Almost every pot and planter sold online in Australia is imported from China, Vietnam or Portugal — including ours. The real difference isn't where it's made; it's what happens after it lands. Marketplaces dropship straight from overseas containers, which is why "fast delivery" turns into six weeks. We import in bulk, hold stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses, and ship from there.

The other thing nobody mentions: terracotta looks beautiful but leaches water fast. In Australian summer, terracotta pots need watering twice as often as plastic or glazed ceramic. If you're not a daily gardener, pick a self-watering or non-porous pot for the same look with less work.

Frequently asked questions

What if my pot arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days with photos. We'll replace or refund under our 12-month warranty. Transit damage is more common with ceramic and terracotta — we sort replacements within 48 hours.

How long does delivery take?
Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane: 3–5 business days. Perth and Adelaide: 5–8 days. Regional and remote areas: 7–14 days.

Can I pay with Afterpay, Zip or PayPal?
Yes, all three. A $200 planter set works out to four payments of $50 with Afterpay or four payments of $50 with PayPal Pay in 4. Zip offers up to 12 months.

Do you sell pots without drainage holes?
Yes, most decorative ceramic pots come without holes. Use them as an outer decorative pot with a plastic nursery pot inside for drainage.

Complete your garden

Three pieces most buyers add at the same time: artificial plants, garden lights, and raised garden beds. Group planters in odd numbers (3 or 5) for a natural garden look.
