The other thing nobody mentions: no-name USB-C cables often only carry USB 2.0 data rates even when they claim USB 3.0. If you're transferring big files or connecting to a monitor, buy cables from labelled brands with printed specifications. For charging only, cheap cables are fine — but check they support your phone's fast-charging protocol.
