Appliances covers every major and small appliance for the Australian home — kitchen whitegoods (fridges, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers), cooking appliances (ovens, microwaves, air fryers, coffee machines), cooling and heating (air conditioners, fans, heaters, air coolers), and cleaning gear (vacuums, steam cleaners, robotic mops, water dispensers). Over 1,280 appliances in stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses, from $30 kettles and toasters to $2,000+ split-system air conditioners and large refrigerators. Most orders dispatch within 1–2 business days.
What appliances should I prioritise when setting up a home?
The order matters when budget is tight. Start with the appliances that handle daily essentials: a fridge (the one appliance you can't substitute), a washing machine (running cost considered — a $600 front loader saves around $200/year in water and power vs an old top loader), and a microwave or air fryer for fast meal prep. Add the dishwasher next (saves 30–60 minutes of daily cleanup), then kettle and toaster for breakfast, then cooling and heating for the season. Major brand purchases like fridges and washing machines deserve careful research (10–15 years of use); small appliances like blenders and kettles are lower-stakes and easier to replace. The biggest mistake first-time buyers make is splurging on small appliances and underspending on the fridge — reverse that priority.
What appliance categories are available?
| Category | Best for | Price guide | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fridges and freezers | Daily food storage | $400–$2,500 | 10–15 years |
| Washing machines and dryers | Laundry | $400–$2,000 | 8–12 years |
| Dishwashers | Time-saving cleanup | $400–$1,500 | 8–12 years |
| Ovens, microwaves, air fryers | Cooking | $100–$1,500 | 5–15 years |
| Air conditioners | Heat-of-summer cooling | $200–$2,000+ | 10–15 years |
| Fans and heaters | Seasonal comfort | $30–$300 | 5–10 years |
| Vacuum cleaners | Floor cleaning | $80–$800 | 5–10 years |
| Coffee, blenders, kettles | Small daily appliances | $30–$500 | 3–7 years |
Quick buyer's checklist
- Energy rating: Star rating affects 10+ years of running costs; pay attention
- Capacity: Match fridge litres to household size; same for washing machine kg
- Footprint: Measure space before ordering; check door swing clearance
- Power requirements: Most appliances run on 10A standard outlets; larger units need 15A
- Brand parts availability: Major brands (Samsung, LG, Bosch) easier to repair years later
- Warranty: 12 months standard; major appliances often have separate motor warranties
How much should I budget for a full home appliance kit?
Realistic ballpark for furnishing a new 2-bedroom unit: $2,500–4,000 covers a mid-range fridge ($800–1,200), a front-load washing machine ($600–900), a dishwasher ($500–800), a microwave or air fryer ($150–300), a kettle and toaster ($80–200), and an air conditioner or heater for the season ($400–800). Going premium across the board pushes the total to $6,000–10,000. Going entry-level brings it down to $1,500–2,500 but compromises lifespan on the big-ticket items. For most households, mid-range on the major appliances (fridge, washing machine, dishwasher) and entry-level on the small appliances (kettle, toaster, blender) is the sensible split.
What most appliance stores won't admit
Almost every appliance sold in Australia is made overseas — typically in China, Korea, Thailand or Vietnam — including ours. Even premium brand-name appliances (Samsung, LG, Bosch, Miele) are made or assembled in Asia and shipped to Australia. The real difference is not where the appliance is made, it's what happens after it lands in Australia. Marketplaces dropship straight from overseas containers, which is why "fast delivery" stretches into six weeks. We import in bulk, hold stock across our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses, and ship from there.
The other thing nobody mentions: appliance energy ratings cover testing conditions, not real use. A 4-star fridge tested at 25°C ambient temperature can run 30–50% more electricity in a Brisbane or Perth kitchen at 32°C+ in summer. A washing machine rated for a specific kg load uses 15–20% more energy if you regularly load it 70%+ full. The star rating is still useful for comparing models, but actual running costs in Australian homes are usually 20–30% higher than the rating sticker suggests. Budget for that gap when calculating total cost of ownership.
Frequently asked questions
What if my appliance arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days with photos. We will arrange a replacement or refund under the 12-month warranty. Larger appliances (fridges, washing machines, dishwashers) ship on pallets; check the carton for visible damage before signing the delivery docket.
How long does delivery take?
Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane: 3–5 business days. Perth and Adelaide: 5–8 days. Regional and remote areas: 7–14 days. Heavy appliances take 1–3 days longer due to freight handling and the need for two-person delivery.
Do you install appliances?
Delivery is to your door only. Installation (plumbing for dishwashers, hard-wiring for ovens, gas connections) requires a licensed tradesperson and is not included.
Can I pay with Afterpay, Zip or PayPal?
Yes, all three. A $1,500 appliance bundle works out to four payments of $375 with Afterpay, four payments of $375 with PayPal Pay in 4, or roughly $125 a month with Zip over 12 months. Klarna is also available.
What's the warranty?
12 months on manufacturing defects, plus 15-day returns on unused appliances in original packaging. Large appliances carry separate motor and compressor warranties listed on the product page.
